Meet Our Pastor
Meet our pastor, Rev. Dr. Tammy Carter.
Pastor Tammy was raised on the farmland of Southeastern
Colorado, trained as a missionary, and called by God to the city. For more than 30 years, she has served the church in California, Illinois, Mississippi, Iowa, and for the past 13 years at Kansas City Grace Church of the Nazarene.
Her congregations have included immigrants and refugees from across the globe including: the former Soviet Union, Latin America, Germany, Italy, Cambodia, Vietnam, Philippines, South Sudan, and across central Africa.
Ten years ago, when completing her PhD in Education, Leadership for Higher Education at Capella University, Pastor Tammy joined the office of Global Education and Clergy Development where she serves as the Administrative Director for Global Education. In this role she has the opportunity to advocate for Nazarene higher education by serving to resource the network of 51 colleges, universities, and seminaries through vital projects such as the Wesleyan-Holiness Digital Library.
Pastor Tammy has three children. Anastasia, a gifted musician and artist is training to be a music/art therapist. Amadeus, a high schooler enjoys robotics, electronics, and engineering. Amaziah, a middle schooler loves dance, drama, art, and storytelling.
Pastor Tammy and love living in the Lea Manor neighborhood and serving this parish.
She has served as Senior Pastor of Summit View since May 2020.
